I like to use my time on a plane to reflect, so tonight I’m going to look at the data from the New York midseason auctions to see if we can come to any conclusions about the current state of the market. These sales represent a weird mix of material and come amid a time of transition.

I’m also a procrastinator. So I’ve got a backlog of Googling to do on the plane to figure out what gallery, museum, and auction exhibitions I’m going to attend. There are also the fairs in Regent’s Park, on Wednesday, which commence a big week. I’ll have more on that Tuesday and next Sunday.
